Leaving Tomorrow

We leave tomorrow for camping. I CANNOT WAIT! Two vacations in one month makes me very happy! 

After work there is lots to do: 

  • Finish laundry
  • Get out all the camping stuff and clean (note to self do this after camping this year)
  • Find some floaty tubes
  • Possible new swimsuit? 
  • Buy Andy new flip-flops (his broke in Caesar’s Palace)
  • Get any last minute items we’re forgetting
  • Pack, pack, pack!

THIS is a festival I’m excited to see! From July 6-8, 2011 DMB’s summer festival tour will take over the south side of Chicago. Ticket go on sale 4/15 and will only be sold in 3-day passes, starting at $195, ouch. I’m excited to learn how the festival site on the south side gets developed for this (and future events).

This sparked my interest today… If DMB is playing Chicago this summer, and they were said to be taking the summer off… Then could it be true they may come to the Gorge for Labor Day weekend? Further research indicates so:

Here come the first (unconfirmed) Dave Matthews Band festival dates for 2011. Without an official announcement from the Band, this is still a rumored set of dates… However it should be safe to assume that Dave Matthews Band will play the Gorge during Labor Day Weekend in 2011. The dates for the Gorge would likely be September 2, 3, and 4th – with Monday, September 5th being Labor Day.

A Letter to Dave

Tomorrow begins our camping vacation to DMB. We are all so excited. More pics and stories to come. It will be epic. 

Here is a letter my good friend Davey recently wrote to Dave Matthews:

Dear Dave,

Hi, it’s me, Davey, remember? Well, if you don’t it doesn’t really matter, you might not have seen me in your dressing room last year…
Um, I wanted to write you to let you know that my friends and I will be there again this year!!  We’re SOOOO excited to see you again, especially me!♥

I can’t believe it’s already been 360 days 11 hrs 21 min and 17 sec sense we last saw each other. (Sad face)

But don’t worry, all of us will be there in 2 DAYS ready to see you and the rest of the band “Shake it like a monkey” Hee hee, notice my play on words? Hmm..anyway, I did want to let you know we’re bringing a few new people this year so if you could put a couple more back stage passes aside that would be great. I mean, I know those passes I found last year weren’t actually “saved” for me but, I thought it was fait that I saw them laying there after I had snuck under the fence.

But whatever, that’s in the past, and I hope you have forgiven me by now. 

I did want to mention, we’ll be camping in the same spot as last year. So, if wanted to stop by this time you can. I think the invitation I left with the security guard last year might have been given to the police for evidence, not sure though. Anyway, we would love to have you and the boys come by for a jam session and beer or something. Also, we’ve decided to attend the first show on Friday this year. So I was hoping you might take a request and play “Satellite” on that night. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love all your sets, but have never had the pleasure of hearing “Satellite” live and in person. I don’t think I’m asking a lot, do you! I MEAN COME ON! It’s not like I’m writing out your whole SET LIST! We both know how doing that last year worked out for me, DON’T WE!!! “I WANNA SEX YOU UP” WAS JUST A SUGGESTION!!!!
 
I’m sorry, I’m sorry for yelling I don’t mean to get upset. It just feels like I put a lot more effort into this relationship then you, that’s all.

Anyway, I can’t wait to see you and the band again this year! My friends and I will be there on Thursday excited for a great weekend and show this year!! Hope all is well with you, Carter, Boyd, Stefan, and the others. See you soon.
