What I’m Reading:
This book and loving it. We opted out of birthing classes. I decided to just educate myself in other ways. And since I recently witnessed a birth, I felt that was education enough.
I’m loving this book because it gives a great outlook from different perspectives and it’s not bias of doing things a certain way. It’s written by two friends who did things differently which goes to show that ‘my way’ is not better then ‘your way’.
I’m trying to have an open mind about birth and parenthood because every child is different… We’ll be writing our story one day at a time.

I discovered Sugar Lime Lane on Instagram a few months ago and I didn’t hesitate when they posted some sale items a couple weeks ago. I just received these in the mail yesterday and absolutely love them! Can’t wait to put them on the little man. I will definitely be ordering more!

The Waiting Game

Yesterday I cleaned out my desk as though I’m not coming back. But you never know… I could be at work one more week.

I decided to work up until the baby comes. I would rather save my maternity time to spend with the little one instead of sitting on my butt at home waiting around.

It’s so crazy not knowing when. Any day now, any day.

Where did time go…

36 weeks… 36 WEEKS!

I have no idea how this pregnancy has flown by so quickly! It literally feels like just yesterday we were in the car and I was telling Andy we’re pregnant. And now, here we are with only four weeks to go (give or take).

Am I ready? I feel ready. Ready as you can be I guess. I’m spending most of my time thinking about what our baby will look like, guessing when I will go into labor, wondering if he will sleep well, will I love him… (yes, of course I will, but I wonder what that love that everyone talks about actually feels like).

I’m not worried or scared, I’m just anxious to see how it will all play out. I’m such a planner, and this is the one thing you can’t plan. My plan at this point is whatever happens, happens, and I will be okay with it.

This is where the countdown begins. Instead of counting up the weeks, it’s down to the final four. Then it’s down to days, then possibly negative days, haha.

So although the time has flown by so far, this will probably be the longest month of waiting in my whole life. I can’t wait to meet you baby!

Anyone out there using Honest products? I’ve heard such rave reviews about them and looked into them a bit, then Andy brought it up to me today. So I decided to order the free trial to see for myself. We are especially looking at the cleaning products, which are all non-toxic and family safe. Would love to hear any thoughts if you have used these products…

Deciding on a chair for the nursery… Do we go modern, trendy? Or classic, comfortable? I’ve heard mixed reviews from moms who have or haven’t used the nursery chair. We don’t have a lot of space in the baby’s room. These are some of the options we’ve been looking at:
Vinnie White Cradle Chair on Overstock - 115.
POÄNG Chair from Ikea - 99.
Wingback Rocker from Pottery Barn Kids - 599.
Little Castle Charleston Swivel Glider from Target - 449.
Which one to choose?

I recently purchased these two diaper bags online, both by Storksak:
Babymel ‘Ella’ Diaper Bag - 125.
Babymel ‘Soho’ Messenger Diaper Bag - 115.
They just came in the mail last week. They are both smaller then I thought they would be, but I’m not sure that’s a bad thing. As a first time mom, I’m not sure what to expect so that’s why I ordered two figuring I can just return one of them… But I kind of like them both. Maybe one for me, one for Andy?

Five Things I’m Most Excited For

With only seven (probably) eight weeks left I’m getting so excited to meet our little one. Every day when he rolls across my stomach or kicks me in the rib, I get the biggest smile on my face. It’s crazy how fast the time has flown by. It literally feels like just yesterday we were telling our friends and family. As the birth day grows closer there are five things that I’m most excited for…

  1. My husband sleeping in bed with me again. Right now I’m laying here in bed alone and he’s up on the couch… and while I must admit it’s been nice having the bed to myself, I desperately miss having him next to me. I can’t wait to sleep on my stomach again and not toss and turn in bed.
  2. Immediate weight loss and no more feeling like a cow. After someone (who will remain nameless) called me “fat mama” the other day, they quickly followed by saying, “well at least you’ll lose the weight faster then all the rest of us.” I guess that’s a plus. I can no longer see my feet, I’m starting to waddle, and I now weigh the most I’ve ever weighed. I’m definitely looking forward to fitting in my clothes again.
  3. To join the world of moms. There’s like this super bond between moms and I’m about to join the club. It’s like ya’ll just get each other. I am surrounded by some of the best moms in the world and I know that I’m going to come running for help at some point. I’m so thankful for everyone around me from new moms, to moms of boys, to moms who have been through it all. So much to learn, but I couldn’t have a better support team.
  4. Being able to go for a run. I was able to run up to about 6 months along. It’s been hard not being able to do everything like normal, but we’re on the home stretch. It’s running weather outside and the pavement is calling my name. I’m ready to go with my BOB running stroller and I’m so excited to get out in the sun and exercise with my little man.
  5. And most of all… I am the most excited to meet this guy for the first time, hold him in my arms and call him mine. It’s really all I think about these days… What he’s going to look like, how life is going to change, what this love feels like that everyone talks about. I just can’t wait.

Four must have nursery items from Ikea:

  • STUVA White storage combination with drawers
  • EIVOR Black/white throw blanket
  • TEJN White faux sheepskin rug
  • HÄRNÖSAND Olstorp dark gray chair

We’re in the process of putting the nursery together. I spent some time shopping online last night and these are the items I fell in love with. Hoping to take a trip to Ikea this weekend to see everything in person.
